Khab Al Shamsi Villages- 4 hours round trip from Dibba.  We enter Wadi Khab Al Shamsi and drive 40 minutes past dramatic cliffs before reaching our start point. After a 10 minutes walk up a trail we reach the village of Al Hajjar. We continue up a steep hill to explore an abandoned settlement 850 meters above sea level with great views of the surrounding wadis and, on a clear day, all the way to Iran.
The trek continue down to a plateau where we explore three further villages. Some of the houses are still occupied but many others were abandoned years ago.
We find many ancient petroglyphs, clay ovens, graveyards, terraced fields and an unusual two storey stone tower.
Eventually we descend a boulder strewn wadi to reach our cars for the return drive to Dibba.
This trek gives participants a unique insight into the lives of the mountain people while enjoying the spectacular mountain scenery.
